Description

Kristian von Hornsleth (b. 1963), 'Kill Me Fast', work of art no. 7 out of 9 (10). Art as quick as lightening. When a motorbike becomes art. Ducati 1098, year 2008, painted by Kristian von Hornsleth, spray-painted with car paint and thereafter 15 coats of clear lacquer applied. The Kill Me Fast project was originally the brainchild of Galleri Poulsen in collaboration with the Ducati importer in Denmark. It originally comprised 10 brand new Ducati motorbikes, model 1098. The first should be Galleri Poulsen’s. The next 8 were to be sold to art collectors around the work and no. 10 was to go to Kristian von Hornsleth. The project was terminated after no. 9. All 9 works have the same message and basically were meant to be identical, but nevertheless unique. None of the works of art have ever been at auction before. The Ducati 1098 is fully equipped and in full working order, but has never been started since it left the factory in 2007 and should be regarded as a unique work of art. There is therefore no Danish registration fee.
