Description
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, 1886-1969. 'Barcelona' daybed with frame in African ramin wood, webbing in harness leather, polished stainless steel legs. Cushion upholstered in buttoned and piped black leather. Matching headrest included. Designed for the World Exhibition in Barcelona, 1929. Produced by Knoll International. Lit.: Charlotte & Peter Fiell. '1,000 Chairs', reproduced and discussed p. 133. With some age-related signs of wear, including lightly patinated leather.
