Description
Johannes Larsen 1867-1961. 'Forskellige havfugle i midnatssol, Norge'. Oil on canvas. View of seabirds on rocky coast, signed and dated monogram 'JL 90' and on the stretcher 'Fugle i belysning af midnatssol Norge'. 47 x 34 (53 x 40) cm. As a child, John Larsen had a great interest in birds. As early as the 1890s, it resulted in numerous studies of birds. It is only in the period 1910-20 that the birds seriously occupy a major place in JL's art. Signs of age-related handling.
