Description

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe 1886-1969. 'Barcelona' daybed, frame in African ramin wood, stretched in harness leather, polished stainless tubular steel. Cushion upholstered in buttoned and piping-stitched black leather. Matching neck pillow included. Designed for the World Exhibition in Barcelona in 1929. Produced by Knoll International. Literature: Charlotte and Peter Fiell. '1000 Chairs', reproduced and discussed on p. 133. Lightweight age-related signs of wear, in the form of inter alia light patinated leather.
