Description
Johann Heinrich Hasselhorst (1825-1904), portrait of a bearded man, oil on canvas. Signature at lower left: 'HJ Hasselhorst'. GIlded stucco frame with elements from Baroque and Rococo such as festoons and rocailles. Several old labels on reverse side of frame, probably from earlier auctions, also a hand-written note (illegible).
Frame: H 108 cm, W 93.5 cm.
Image: H 70.5 cm, W 55 cm.
Canvas in good condition. Painting with slight dirt film and craquelure. Stucco decoration on frame broken, faulty and with cracks in several places. The rocaille in the top right corner is missing. The rocaille at the lower left corner is broken off and included.
