Ewer, Chinese sage, Yixing clay, China. Thick-walled ewer varnished in red in the shape of a Chinese sage with walking rod and closed lotus flower in hands, reverse side with handle and detachable head as cover, underside with Chinese manufacturer's stamp, H 16cm, W 13cm, D 17cm, wear and scuffing commensurate with age, partially minor scratches in the varnish.
