Description

Arne Jacobsen - The Chair of the Future. Wide model in wicker weave on a frame in steam bent ratton, loose 7-piece cushion in black cotton. Designed by Arne Jacobsen for the exhibition Future House in Forum Copenhagen in 1929. The wide model of The Chair of the Future can be seen in the picture from the exhibition along with The Paris chair. Arne Jacobsen wicker chairs were produced by JV Holding/Fletmageren under license in the period 1997-2013. The Chair of the Future in the rare wide model has not been produced since 1929 and the chair was produced in very limited number in 2002 by Fletmageren on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Arne Jacobsen. The chair has the original pendant from 2002 fitted onto the chair. The chair is in an unused condition and comes from a discontinued Danish private collection of Arne Jacobsen wicker chairs.
