Arne Jacobsen. Footstool for the 'The Golden Egg', Model 3127, 60th anniversary collection, 2018. Upholstered in pure aniline leather, fully moulded four-star base in aluminium coated with 23 kt. gold. Minimal signs of wear.
This 60th anniversary celebrates the silhouette of 'The Egg', 'The Swan', 'The Drop', and the SAS Hotel Royal, for which the chairs were originally designed.
The aniline leather, with its silky-smooth surface, also tells a visual story of its unique origin. Aniline leather is made of high-quality raw leather. As a rule, the leather has a completely natural stripped surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grain, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and the effects of light, and it quickly develops a naturally beautiful patina. Source: Fritz Hansen.
