Description

Model ship. Large model of the passenger ship M/S JENS BANG. Very detailed and precise model, frame-built and with mouldings, produced in e.g. oak and mahogany. The hull is covered with double-layer thin fibreglass. It can sail, and ballast is included in the form of a cast and numbered lead weight. The model is equipped with two electric motors (12 volt), 2 screws and two stern tubes. Preparations have been made for installation of radio control for the rudder and motors. Stand height 56 cm, L = 160 cm, W = 25.5 cm. The model has been produced after original drawings from Helsingør shipyard, where M/S JENS BANG was built in 1950 and delivered to DFDS. Together with the sister ship M/S PRIOR, JENS BANG was installed on the route Aalborg - Copenhagen, that was closed in 1970. Both ships were sold to overseas in 1971. The model was built by boatbuilder Per Rimmen, Aalborg i 1999. The build tool approx. 600 hours.
