Description
A vase, porcelain, probably 13th/14th century, blue underglaze blue painting on white ground, high shoulder with tight opening on short neck and narrow tapered foot, three-zoned paintwork, central part with all-round narrative figural scene on a theme form the Song time with a depiction of a tiger fight scene and male figures in landscape, shoulder zone with band of blossom and foliate tendrils, bottom area of sides with approximately tongue-like fields in seven-fold pattern with flowers, angular framed signature seal in the figural scene, H: 40.8 cm, wear and scuffing commensurate with age, glazing spots and faults in the glazing, traces of scratches.
