Description

Verner Panton 1926-1998. ' Cone Chair', recently reupholstered by professional upholsterers in cognac-coloured aniline leather, swivel four-star satin-brushed stainless steel base with black leg caps. Designed in 1959. Presumably produced by Fritz Hansen. H. 83/45 cm. Literature: 'Verner Panton, The collected works, Vitra design museum', discussed and reproduced on pp. 30-34.

Aniline leather is made of high-quality raw leather. As a rule, the leather has a completely natural stripped surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grain, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and the effects of light, and it quickly develops a patina.
