In Martin Kippenberger's study, Theodore Géricault's famous work 'The Raft of Medusa' (1819) is recreated in a series of 15 lithographs entitled 'The Raft of Medusa'. In the portfolio, Kippenberger creates self-portraits inspired by the figures of Medusa’s fleet.
