Description
Arne Jacobsen. 'The Swan', lounge chair, four-star swivel base in aluminium. Produced by Fritz Hansen, Model 3322, 2013, Brown Label. Serial number engraved under frame. Professionally reupholstered in 'Vacona' aniline leather retaining the original lining and original Brown label. Designed in 1957-1958 for the Hotel Royal in Copenhagen. Literature: C. Thau and K. Vindum. 'Arne Jacobsen', discussed and reproduced on p. 469. Minimal signs of wear.
Aniline leather is made of high-quality raw leather. As a rule, the leather has a completely natural stripped surface, where all natural marks are visible. This helps to emphasize the unique character of the leather. The leather is full-grain, which means that the natural surface structure is preserved. Aniline leather changes over time through use and the effects of light, and it quickly develops a naturally beautiful patina.
