Jens Galschiøt (f. 1954), unika skulptur i form af en blomstrende rose, betitlet: 'A Rose for Yasaman', kobber, bronze og stål. signeret på sokkel, H. 60 cm.

Det var nyheden om, at den kun 24-årige Yasaman Aryani blev idømt 16 års fængsel for at dele roser ud og opfordre kvinder og piger til at tage deres tørklæde af, som fik Jens Galschiøt til at kaste sig over et nyt kunstværk.

Jeg bliver så rørt over modige mennesker som Yasaman, der satser sit liv for at kæmpe for sine rettigheder,” siger Jens Galschiøt, som er verdenskendt for sin ofte provokerende samtidskunst.

Galschiøt har derfor lavet en 60 centimeter høj rose, som er lavet af kobber, bronze og stål. Den står på en fod af sten, og vejer 7 kg. Rosen er unik, der er ikke lavet aftryk, den er bygget op i hånden og Jens Galschiøts fingeraftryk kan stadig anes i rosenbladene.

Jens Galschiøt er i gang med at lave en ”mini rose” som bliver sendt til Yasaman i fængslet.

Indtægterne (inkl. salær) går direkte til Amnesty International’s Iran team, som støtter menneskerettighedsforkæmpere som Yasaman.
