Description

Austrian bracket clock by Johann Vellauer from Vienna, made in the eighteenth century. Rectangular case of wood, with a profile plinth. Crest with bronze application and carrying handle. All four side with glass.
Inscribed underneath dial: 'Vellauer in Wien' and under 12 o'clock a space for the sun-shaped faux pendulum.
Date display at 6 o'clock, month displayed via the top central dial with zodiac signs and months. At left a mechanism for switching the repetition on or off and at right a silencer of the striking mechanism.
Case dimensions without handle approx. 37.5 x 25 x 15.5 cm.
The clock was restored and is in a condition commensurate with age with wear.
