Description

Charles and Ray Eames. 'La Chaise'. Chaise longue with the shell in white fibreglass, frame in solid oak and chromed steel. Designed in 1948. Produced and labelled by Vitra. Signs of wear, light scratches and marks.
The chaise longue was displayed for the first time at the Museum of Modern Art in 1948. Literature: Charlotte and Peter Fiell. '1000 Chairs', mentioned on pp. 274-75; 'The Work of Charles And Ray Eames: A Legacy of Invention', reproduced and discussed on pp. 88-89.
