Swedish Rapier
Swedish Rapier. Blade with pierced s-shaped quillon wound and decorated with foliage. Steel grip, wound with plaited iron wire, plumb-shaped finial. Single-edged blade with flat ryg and slight ground hollowing approx. 2/5 of the length from the quillon, thereafter transition to double-edged blade. The blade is decorated with a few incized lines and elipse-shaped impressed marks. Marked Sværdfegermærke. Sweden, 17th century. L. 107 cm. Provenance: Swedish private collection.
