Interiors from hotel d'Angleterre
Since 1755, Hotel d'Angleterre has epitomized luxury and indulgence. But it is also a symbol of romance. This venerable hotel is the result of a love affair between the French servant Jean Marchal and Maria Coppy, the daughter of the court's head chef. The two young lovers were a perfect match, as Maria had a talent for cooking and Jean was experienced in serving privileged people.
Together they established a restaurant at Kongens Nytorv, and their success lasted for more than 260 years and continues to this day. However, the now well-known name Hotel d'Angleterre only came into use in 1791, after the distinguished English Club moved into its premises. The hotel is currently updating some of its interior, which is why we are now offering a selection of items from there, providing an excellent opportunity to create a hotel atmosphere and experience Hotel d'Angleterre in your own home.
