Delivery

Different options for delivery/pickup of items at Lauritz.com:

1: Shipping by Post

You can choose to have smaller items that meet certain size and weight requirements shipped by post. Read more here.

2: Ordering Transport or Pickup

Transport with one of Lauritz.com's partner companies can be arranged at the time of payment for your purchase.

If you prefer to arrange transport with another company, you must inform the respective auction house via email.

Delivery costs for a canceled purchase will only be refunded if the delivery was arranged through Lauritz.com. Please note that you are always responsible for return shipping costs to Lauritz.com in case of cancellation.

You also have the option to pick up your purchased item in person. You will need to present your purchase receipt and valid photo ID. If someone else is picking up the item on your behalf, they must bring a written authorization along with the purchase receipt and photo ID.

Please be aware that you are responsible for handling your item upon collection.

Responsibility for Shipping and Transport

All parcel shipments paid for through Lauritz.com are covered by value insurance. However, for items valued over DKK 250,000, an additional insurance fee may apply. If an item is damaged or lost during shipping, you must contact the auction house where you purchased the item.

If you have paid a transport company to deliver your item and it is damaged or lost during transport, you must contact the transport company directly. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the transport company’s freight and delivery terms.

As a customer, always check your item before signing for receipt from the transport company. If you sign the delivery receipt before inspecting the item, you lose the right to file a complaint with the carrier if damage is later discovered. Lauritz.com always aims to assist our customers, but since we do not handle the transport ourselves, we cannot intervene in disputes with transport companies. Therefore, we strongly recommend inspecting the item before signing for receipt.

Customs and Import VAT

Please note that special regulations apply to importing goods across EU borders. A buyer from an EU country (e.g., Denmark or Sweden) will be subject to customs duties and import VAT when importing goods purchased from a country outside the EU (e.g., Norway). The same applies if a customer outside the EU buys an item from a country within the EU. Read more.

For items crossing the EU border, VAT is calculated according to the terms of sale. If you wish to apply for a VAT refund, you must contact the local tax authorities in the country where the item was purchased. The cost of customs duties and import VAT is calculated by local customs authorities based on the hammer price, shipping, insurance, etc.

Special Regulations for Weapons Requiring a Firearms Permit

Weapons must be picked up in person with a valid firearms permit or transported by an approved transport company authorized to ship weapons. A valid firearms permit must always be presented.

If you do not reside in Denmark, you are not allowed to personally export the weapon from Denmark, as you do not have the legal right to possess it there. Instead, the weapon must be shipped to your home country by a carrier authorized to transport weapons legally.
