Ole Olsen – Film Pioneer and Art Collector
Ole Olsen (1861–1943) founded Nordisk Films Kompagni in 1906, making Danish film internationally recognized with works like The Polar Bear Hunt and A Trip to Mars. After retiring in the 1920s, he focused on building an extensive art and antiques collection.
In 1933, he set up a private gallery in Hellerup and, in 1935, built a burial chamber in Odsherred—sealed until 2143 per his will. Ole Olsen left a lasting legacy in both the world of cinema and art.
