Description

Automatic translation from Danish.

Hans Bunde (1919-1996): Modern candlestick of sterling silver, circular design with two 'arms' to grip the candle, round foot, made March 1962. Unstamped, but acid-tested. H. 13. W. 11.2. D. 7.5 cm. Weight approx. 184 g. Accompanied by the original working drawing, signed HB and marked 'Candlestaker sterling preliminary working drawing'. The candlestick is a prototype that was probably never put into production.
Hans Bunde was head of Carl M. Cohr's unique works department from 1951 to 1976. "The corpus works that were created in his time were of an elegance that the other silverware factories could not match" (Source: Lise Funder: 'Danish silver in the 20th century', 2004, pp. 149-150).
